Bangkok's Best Hidden Barber: ฿200 Haircut at Easy Cut Barber Shop in Asok Underground Mall
My Unexpected Discovery of a No-Frills ฿200 ($6 USD)Haircut in the Heart of Bangkok
As an older guy who prefers simplicity, my approach to hair care is straightforward - no fancy products, no blow-drying, just regular haircuts every 2.5 weeks to keep things neat. Why spend a fortune on hair when Bangkok (กรุงเทพฯ) has so much incredible food to try, right?
One afternoon, after devouring some spicy papaya salad and sticky rice at Terminal 21 mall in Bangkok’s Asok (อโศก) neighborhood, I headed down to the MRT Sukhumvit underground train station. What started as a casual exploration turned into an unexpected discovery.
Look for the Metro Mall Sukhumvit sign near the MRT entrance escalator.
At the bottom of the first set of escalators, I veered left into a narrow corridor - the Metro Mall inside MRT Sukhumvit (สุขุมวิท) station.
This hidden underground passage hosts a charming collection of small businesses, each offering various services and goods.
That's when I spotted it:
Easy Cut barber shop. Their menu? Brilliantly simple. One haircut, 200 baht (roughly $6 USD). No frills, no upsells - just straightforward service at what might be central Bangkok's most budget-friendly price point.
The experience was everything I hoped for. The staff's genuine friendliness made the whole process comfortable and enjoyable. For someone like me who appreciates efficiency without the fuss, Easy Cut delivered perfectly.
How to Find This Hidden Gem:
Location: Metro Mall MRT Sukhumvit (underground level)
From the BTS Asok platform, take the escalator down to the MRT Sukhumvit station
Turn left at the bottom of the first escalator
Price: 200 baht for a basic cut
No appointment needed
Perfect for: Quick trims, basic haircuts, budget-friendly grooming
Voila! You’re happy and smiling.
There you go, friends. Enjoy your haircut and save the few extra baht for a bowl of noodles. That’s what I would do. Ha!
